Build foundation: Damage Cap before more attack

Endgame builds should start with a Damage Cap check. If your important attacks are already capped, more attack does not increase those hits. Use the training dummy percentage display, then decide whether your next upgrade should be raw damage, Damage Cap, supplementary damage, or survivability.

Read the full Damage Cap guide before copying any best-in-slot build blindly.

Do not ignore AI party builds

Solo Endless Ragnarok progression is much smoother when your AI companions are geared. Build one main character and three reliable AI teammates before spreading resources across the entire roster. For a practical solo setup, start with Eugen, Zeta, and Cagliostro AI recommendations, then adjust for the boss you are farming.

Starter build template for any character

If you do not know where to start, build around a simple four-layer template: reach functional survivability, bring key attacks near cap, add Damage Cap when the training dummy shows wasted attack, then add character-specific tools that improve your real rotation. This is safer than copying a best-in-slot list that assumes perfect sigils and full Master Trait investment.

LayerGoalExamples
SurviveFinish the quest without constant revives.Auto Revive, Potion Hoarder, defensive traits.
Reach capPush important attacks close to their current ceiling.Attack, crit, character-specific damage bonuses.
Raise capStop wasting attack once hits cap out.Damage Cap sources, Alpha/Beta/Gamma-style endgame options.
Optimize loopImprove what the character actually does every fight.Cooldown routes, charged attack traits, supplementary damage, summon timing.

Chaos-ready checklist

Before calling a build ready for Chaos-tier farming, verify it in practice. A build that survives training dummy tests but collapses in movement-heavy fights is not finished.

  1. Test your main combo, key skills, and burst window on the training dummy.
  2. Confirm important hits are not far below cap or wasting too much attack above cap.
  3. Run a Conflux boss room and watch whether your AI companions stay alive.
  4. Keep at least one defensive slot while learning new bosses.
  5. Only remove safety sigils after clears are stable and repeatable.

How to route character builds

Melee characters usually care about uptime and safe punish windows. Ranged characters care about maintaining pressure while moving. Technical characters need gauge rhythm and cooldown support. Summoner-style characters care about setup windows and whether their extra hits align with boss vulnerability. Use this page as the hub, then go to individual character build pages once you know which problem you need to solve.

For the Endless Ragnarok characters, start with playstyle fit before meta ranking: Beatrix for aggressive melee, Eustace for active ranged play, Fraux and Fediel for hybrid rhythm, Gallanza for heavy hits, and Maglielle for summoner-style pressure.

Build FAQ for returning players

Should I farm perfect sigils before starting Endless Ragnarok?

No. Start with a functional set, unlock the new systems, then use Conflux and Chaos rewards to refine. Waiting for perfect base-game drops delays the faster expansion reward loop.

When should I swap from survival to damage?

Swap one slot at a time after your clears are repeatable. If a boss still downs you or your AI party repeatedly, survival is still part of your real DPS.

Are old builds obsolete?

Not completely. Old build logic still helps, but Master Traits, summons, new sigils, and higher cap options mean every serious build should be re-tested instead of copied unchanged.
